RAMADAN IS IN JUST LESS THAN A WEEK

I am flabbergasted right now because Ramadan is less than a week away and lots of students in room 18 are preparing for it and getting ready. They are preparing at home or at school. The practice is happening in Shaban, the month before Ramadan. Lots of people are practicing because it is quite hard for them to fast or because they want to be a better Muslim.

They are practicing by fasting 2 days a week. Fasting is from sunrise to sunset which is 12 to 13 hours long. Fasting in our culture is to not eat and to feel how the poor and the hungry feel. If you’re fasting and you don’t pray or read the Quran you don’t get as much reward, It’s like you don’t get rewards.

Talking about the Quran, it is our holy book. We read it every day and in Ramadan you’re supposed to read more than usual.

The next thing is praying. We have 5 daily prayers and we have to pray them everyday because it is compulsory. The first prayer is Fajr that is the one after we make our fast. Next one is Zuhr which is an early afternoon prayer. Then it is Asr which is later in the afternoon. Second last is Maghrib, that is when we break our fast which is sunset. Last is Isha at night.

In Ramadan our rewards are multiplied by a lot and in the last 10 days there is a day where your rewards are turned into 1000 days of non-stop repentance and praying. It is mostly an odd day and you can’t ever tell so you have to keep praying on the last days to be rewarded like crazy.

According to my Muslim classmate Zaid, ”I think it is gonna be a very good month and maybe the best Ramadan.” Have a good Ramadan, and to all my Muslims: RAMADAAN KAREEM.
